{Big-Screen Inspiration} Twilight-Themed Wedding Magic

by Cheryl on November 17, 2011

Whether you’re Team Edward or Team Jacob, totally entranced by the Twilight saga or not interested at all, you have to admit that the romantic love story certainly provides for some seriously breathtaking inspiration!

With the Twilight Breaking Dawn premiere just half a day away, I am pleased to feature a Twilight-themed event that was envisioned and styled by Lina of A Stunning Affair and Heather of Events by Heather Ham.

The stylists incorporated elements from both the book and the movie adaptation, reminiscent of Forks, Washington, the outdoor setting for the magical affair. I especially love that they took a light, whimsical approach to their design when many would have taken a much darker interpretation of the vampire fairytale.

Inspiration was taken from the iconic cover of the first Twilight installment, where hands are holding an apple. Apples were used as escort cards, candle holders, as the cake topper, and as inspiration for the signature beverage: Hot Apple Cider.

The cake, a creation from Sweet and Saucy, incorporated the color scheme, the branches and the apple.

The duo hung floating rose heads and crystals from the trees and the backs of each chair. A custom lace table runner made by Sashes for Love adorned the vintage wooden table. On top of the runner sat a variety of beautiful glass vases that held an assortment of flowers with different textures, hydrangea, roses, lisianthus, blueporum, dusty miller and touches of succulents. Tall, silver candelabras, glass vases with floating candles and apples were used as candle holders.

The name of the table – “First Sight” – was taken from the first chapter of the first book of the Twilight Series. At each place setting sat a white napkin enhanced with a brown satin ribbon and sparkly antique broach. Tucked into the napkin was a menu that doubled as a place card hand made by Calligraphy Katrina.

Peonies, roses, lisianthus, dusty miller and bluporum tied with a satin white ribbon that had the words “so the lion fell in love with the lamb” were combined to create Bella’s bouquet.

“Team Bella” and “Team Edward” buttons were used as favors, as well as miniature green trees and pashmina wraps in coordinating colors {a great way to keep your guests warm at an outdoor event!}.
