{Bridal Style} Not Your Grandmother’s Wedding Shoes

by Nicole on October 5, 2011

I’m definitely a huge fan of the funky wedding shoe trend we’ve been seeing lately! And while I didn’t go super crazy on my own shoes, I also definitely didn’t wear those boring old white dyeables that they traditionally sell at wedding boutiques.

Although my wedding is almost a year past, I still like to browse the internet every once in a while to uncover some shoes that I personally feel would be perfect for any bride…

Haylie by Chinese Laundry — I absolutely adore how they used chiffon when designing this sleek yet classy shoe. This particular pair would be perfect for any wedding incorporating black into the color scheme! ($89.95 on Chinese Laundry, also available in pink and bronze)

Galiza by Nina Shoes — Available in a wide variety of colors, this shoe is definitely the amped up version of the more traditional wedding shoe. With satin straps, a high stiletto and gorgeous net flower, these would look great under almost any wedding gown. ($39.60-$99.00 on Amazon)

Poppy by Mojo Moxy — Bring a boldly feminine accent to your wedding day look with this distinctive open-toe pump. With a thick platform and super-high heel, these definitely create a sexy silhouette. The best part? They’re available in a WIDE variety of colors! ($48.58-$87.90 on Amazon)

Hotline by Chinese Laundry — These ivory lace pump are perfect for the vintage-inspired bride with a desire to not only be different but also very elegant. The classic design can definitely be worn after your wedding day, and they’re also available in black. ($89.95 on Chinese Laundry)

Humbie II by Badgley Mischka — Badgley Mischka is one of my favorite designers for wedding shoes, and while these stunning Humbie II pumps are a little pricier than some of the others I’ve shared here, they’re definitely a show stopper! This glittery design is perfect for an old Hollywood glamour wedding and is available in smoke, gold and black. ($194.10-$214.99 on Amazon)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Hotline by Chinese Laundry shoe! Everything about it is exactly what I wanted (the lace, the bow, the height) except it breaks my heart that they don’t come in classic white! Any chance anyone knows of a similar looking shoe in white?
