Vintage Stamps

by Nicole on June 3, 2010

After first hearing of the idea of using vintage stamps to mail wedding invitations, I’ve been pretty set on it. However, I’ve found that it’s often hard to find the ones you really want — based on color scheme and overall style. Enter the Paper Nickel Stamp Company.

Created by Holly Bedell, a graphic designer and former art director, The Paper Nickel Stamp Company is an online store featuring the very best in vintage stamps.

Basically, all you have to do is use Paper Nickel’s online tool to input your color scheme, theme, amount of invitations, and the cost of postage per piece. Then, relying on her keen eye, Holly handpicks the cache of colorful, cultural and charming collections for each and every order, pulling from her enormous inventory, which spans a variety of decades from the early 1900s through the late 1980s.

And if you’re up for a surprise, you can order a mixed pack. Flexible and fun, this option let’s you choose the amount you need and leaves Holly to the picking.
