You’ve got the ring, you picked a date, and now you want to shout it from the rooftops! Creating your save the date announcements is one of the first steps that you will take after you get engaged. Since it’s the first glimpse that your guests will get of what they can expect on your big day, it’s important to make a good impression! There are lots of fun ways to share the news with all of your friends and family; here are some of my favorite “save the date” trends:
1. Fingerprint Heart
Create a heart out of your fingerprints for an effect that is unique and timeless. I love this idea (as seen on Etsy) because it is simple and affordable and something that you and your fiance can design together. These announcements make a big statement without having to say a word!
2. Wedding Sneak Peak
Leave them guessing by incorporating a theme or décor idea that you plan to use for your big day, like the example below seen on Pinterest. This is the perfect way to give your guests a sneak peek of your wedding and create some buzz amongst your friends and family.
3. Photo Booth
These are such a big trend at weddings right now, why not use a photo booth to create your save the date announcement? Show your personalities in the pictures and use signs or chalkboards to declare your big news like the example from Pinterest below. For bonus points, add a magnet to the back!
4. Scratch and “Save”
Make it a game for your guests by creating scratch and “save” announcements like these on Martha Stewart Weddings. Create lottery cards that reveal a winning combination: your wedding date! Your friends and family will be feeling lucky and looking forward to all the fun to come on your big day.

Love these ideas Ashley, especially the Scratch-Off idea! That is so unique and definitely something I have never seen before!
