I love when cool, real brides send me cool, real weddings. And I especially love when I find couples who aren’t afraid to be 100% themselves on their big day, whether that means tattoos and piercings are in full-sight, there’s a Nannerpus grooms cake (you’ll see), whatever! So imagine my delight when Cat sent me this super-awesome, non-traditional, real wedding.
Cat & Scott were married in April 2009 at the top of tallest skyscraper in the state of Iowa, in front of an intimate audience of about 40 guests. Then, they moved the party to a warehouse for what appears to be a super-fun reception. I might also mention that Cat’s an artist, so this wedding is full of DIY goodness. Enjoy…
See? Nannerpus cake!
Now that you’ve seen all the photos, I might also mention that just 2 months before the wedding, Cat had an accident and broke her leg and jaw, sustained a concussion, and was still using a cane up until the wedding…and she still managed to pull off this wedding and look gorgeous in the process! Now, I don’t know her personally, but I’m going to assume Cat is a bad-ass.
Thanks, Cat for sharing your big day with us!
